Life and Career
Inga Markwart is a seasoned consultant and trainer with over a decade of experience in advising managers worldwide on innovation and change management, business model and strategy development, and entering the German/EU market. As the founder of IM International, she works on development cooperation projects funded by international organisations such as GIZ, United Nations, and SDC, with a focus on improving private sector economy globally. Her work has taken her to Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Middle East, and North Africa.
Inga's expertise also includes consulting German startups and SMEs on opportunities for public innovation funding. Her career began in a German machine building company, and she later led a GIZ training project for five years. She then worked abroad in Armenia for two years, where she founded the German Business Association in Armenia (DWV) as a member organisation according to standards of the German Foreign Chambers of Commerce (AHK). Her main task was to consult German companies on entering the Armenian market and support Armenian companies to do vice versa.
Inga understands the importance of intercultural competence for international business success and has gained valuable insights into ensuring international competitiveness through professional analysis of the target market and the customer segment. As a lecturer, she shares these learnings and competences with future managers and leaders.
