How do I find the right course for me at Gisma University of Applied Sciences?
Gisma offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and foundation courses. The academic programmes are either awarded and delivered by Gisma University of Applied Sciences or taught in partnership with leading education institutions like Kingston University.
How do I apply to Gisma University of Applied Sciences?
Applying for a course couldn’t be easier! The application process is simple and will have no impact on your studies. All you need to do is fill out an online application form for your chosen programme and one of our consultants will get in touch with you.
How do I secure my place in the chosen course?
If you meet all the requirements for the programme, our admissions team will make you an offer. A deposit will be required at this stage to secure your place at Gisma University of Applied Sciences.
Can I apply if I still don’t have all the documents or haven’t graduated yet?
Yes, students can apply even if they are missing their proof of English or final certificate and transcript. However, if the student still hasn’t graduated, it is advised to submit the current transcripts for the years they have studied so far.
What are the additional steps for non-EU students?
Most international students will need a student visa to study in Germany. Visit our visa guide to easily find out whether you need a visa or not and the next steps to acquire the visa. If you require a visa, then the steps include booking your visa appointment, preparing the documents, and an interview at the Embassy.
How do I prepare the necessary documents for international study?
Upon successful application, our visa team will guide you in preparing the documents. However, it is the student’s responsibility to do the steps mentioned. For any queries, please contact your programme consultant or reach out to info@gisma.com.
Do I get assistance in opening a Blocked Bank Account?
After securing your seat, our Visa team guides you on opening the blocked bank account or in the sponsorship process, booking their visa appointment, preparing the documents, and doing a mock interview. However, it is your responsibility to do the steps mentioned, the Visa team is not responsible for doing them on the student’s behalf.
Will I need to attend an interview?
Yes, if you require a visa then you will have an interview at the German embassy to give some background information about who you are.
How will I receive my visa?
The visa confirmation will take 2-3 months, depending on the student’s home country. You can either receive the visa at your home or pick it up from the Embassy.
Can I also attend the courses online while waiting for the visa?
Yes, you can attend the courses online and continue at the campus once you get the visa.
When should I plan to fly to Germany?
Students from EU can start planning their journeys to Germany as soon as they receive their final acceptance letter from Gisma University of Applied Sciences. International students can plan their journeys once they receive their visa and acceptance letter.
How do I search for accommodation in Germany?
There are several accommodation options available which our consultants will be happy to advise you on. Once you have received your visa and booked your flight, you can start the accommodation process.
Does Gisma University of Applied Sciences offer scholarships?
Gisma offers a range of partial scholarship opportunities to qualified students starting their course with us.
How can I apply for scholarships at Gisma University of Applied Sciences?

Will I get help in finding a job or an internship?
Our Gisma Career Centre will help you learn how finesse your CV and cover letter, how to ace an interview, and you will even have the opportunity to put everything into practice in mock interviews. The Career Centre at Gisma also connects you with companies and employers through various events and Career Days. As a student of Gisma, you will also have access to JobTeaser, an online recruitment platform. However, please note, a job or an internship is not guaranteed.
Do I get assistance with APS?
Yes, we have an APS team that will help you get your APS faster. All you must do is once you submit the APS application and pay the fee for it, send the APS confirmation PDF along with the token number to your advisor who will coordinate with the APS team. However, please note, the APS team only assists students that have been unconditionally accepted at Gisma and have paid the tuition deposit.
Will I get a Visa after I graduate?
Yes, after you graduate from Gisma, you will be eligible for the job seeker’s visa. SERS will help you apply for it.
