GISMA raises a glass to Early Careers

The event was an opportunity for professionals in organisations and universities to gather to discuss opportunities for individuals starting their careers in Germany.

This network of professionals and experts in recruitment was founded by Rebecca Fielding from Gradconsult and Jeff Lovejoy from Zalando. The first meet-up was at Zalando Headquarters in Berlin in October last year.

Gisma - Business School

25 professionals were present from companies such as Zalando, Vinted, Adidas, eBay, and Enterprise, therefore the event was a fantastic networking opportunity, giving the attendees the chance to share concerns about employment and discuss how talents can match the needs of companies.

Eloise Capet, Head of Career Centre Berlin, gave an overview of the degree programmes offered at GISMA. In addition, she shared data on Alumni and graduates’ employment, duration placement, job designation, and scope of companies where they are currently employed. She also shared innovative examples of projects related to employability and student transition like the TCS Sustainathon and internships placements with TCS or Vinted. Finally, she demonstrated that collaboration is possible between GISMA and the present organisations, such as through company presentations on Career Days or company visits.

Then the participants worked in groups on problems of early talent retention and onboarding preparation. These workshops were facilitated by Rebecca Fielding, Founder and Managing Director of Gradconsult.

The day ended with a social activity run by French sommelier, Arthur Wilson, who conducted a Wine and Cheese Tasting session, for the pleasure of our guests. Participants received great insights throughout the day, and all thanked the awesome initiative.
