Gisma University of Applied Sciences Shines at the Prestigious AMBA & BGA Excellence Awards 2025 

On January 24, 2025, the Royal Garden Hotel in London hosted the highly anticipated AMBA & BGA Gala Dinner, bringing together the brightest minds in global business education for a night of celebration, networking, and recognition. This prestigious event brought together thought leaders, innovators, and educators from around the world for a night of recognition, networking, and inspiration. The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the AMBA & BGA Excellence Awards 2025, honoring outstanding contributions to business education, innovation, and leadership. 

It was a night to remember for Gisma University of Applied Sciences and its President, Prof. Dr. Ramon O’Callaghan, as the university received commendations in all 3 nominated categories – an incredible achievement considering the over 200 nominations across 12 distinct categories. This remarkable recognition underscores Gisma’s commitment to academic excellence, educational innovation, and its growing global impact in business education. 

Best CSR and Sustainability Initiative 2025 

Gisma was honored for its transformative Naga Nectar startup initiative in Northeast India. This recognition highlights the university’s dedication to corporate social responsibility and sustainability, reinforcing its mission to foster positive societal impact while equipping students to lead with purpose and integrity. 

Best Lifelong Learning Initiative 2025 

Gisma’s Skills Sprint Week was celebrated for reinventing the teaching and learning experience. The initiative blends practical workshops, hackathons, expert talks, and competitions, empowering students, graduates, and alumni with real-world skills that extend far beyond the classroom. 

Start-Up of the Year 2025 

Another proud moment came with the commendation of VertZero, a ground-breaking startup founded by Tuan Pham, a Global MBA student at Gisma. This recognition reaffirms the university’s commitment to entrepreneurship and its dedication to nurturing students with the vision and drive to create sustainable solutions for the future. 

An Evening of Inspiration and Achievement 

The evening commenced with a welcome reception at 6:45 PM, followed by a gourmet dinner and the eagerly awaited awards presentation. Leaders from business schools, graduates, global enterprises, and innovators gathered to celebrate excellence in education, fostering a spirit of collaboration and innovation.
