Students complete final consultancy project with a global multinational client

We love seeing the success stories of our students, like Varundev Nagumanthri, a Kingston University MSc International Business Management student at GISMA Business School Hamburg, who spoke to us about the consultancy project he recently completed for multinational client, SAP Software Solutions.

The project involved Varundev and his team finding the best method to measure the value delivery of SAP cloud-based products.

Gisma - Business School

Over the course of three months, the group of students started their journeys as consultants, using secondary research resources to measure ‘value’. The team made extensive use of information from sources such as: the Kingston online repository ICAT, online webpages of SAP’s competitors, academic business schools’ databases such as Harvard and MIT, and data from consultancy firms such as KPMG, Bain & Company and Accenture.

Although the topic was vast and the availability of concrete information sparse, the team did an excellent job at modifying versions of existing frameworks to suit the client’s needs. With the help of regular client meetings, their Kingston University mentor and brainstorming sessions with team members, Varundev and his team were able to think innovatively and successfully analyse hundreds of research articles and journals.

Commenting on the experience, Varundev said: “I would like to end this by thanking my team, GISMA Hamburg campus Programme Manager, Dijana Sapina, Kingston University, SAP value Advisor, Bushra Khan, and SAP Vice President, Dr Martin Kotula, for their extended support and guidance at all times to achieve what seemed impossible in the beginning to an absolute possibility in the end and acquire the highest mark in the group presentation.”

Consultancy projects of this nature are part of the MSc International Business Management programme, and many other programmes available at GISMA Business School. They are designed to allow students to apply what they have learnt in the classroom to real life clients in a broad range of industries. Companies that have worked with GISMA students in this way have included those from tech, cosmetics and consulting industries.
