Skills Sprint Week August 2025 at Gisma: Innovation, Careers, and Growth

At Gisma University of Applied Sciences, every Skills Sprint Week is a celebration of innovation, career readiness, and personal growth. Held last week across our Berlin and Potsdam campuses, the event brought together students, alumni, faculty, and industry leaders for a dynamic programme of activities designed to inspire, challenge, and prepare students for the future of work.

The week kicked off with a town hall where students, staff, and faculty shared ideas and feedback, setting the tone for open dialogue and collaboration. Alongside this, a wellness-focused Ayurveda session reminded students of the importance of balance and well-being as they navigate academic and professional challenges.

Throughout the week, expert-led sessions equipped students with practical knowledge and insights. Innovation took centre stage with the AI Cup, where students’ AI agents competed in a high-energy Gomoku showdown. A dedicated LinkedIn workshop helped participants refine their professional profiles, while a hands-on session in Potsdam focused on navigating the German job market. Sustainability was also a highlight, with discussions on how entrepreneurial action and lifestyle changes can drive meaningful impact.

Guest lectures and talks added further depth to the programme. Severin Bonnet shared insights on Bitcoin and the principles of sound money, while Yascha Rohani provided strategies on testing and validating business ideas. Students also gained inspiration from entrepreneurial and leadership journeys, including a powerful talk by Chiedza Moguti on scaling companies from hustle to high growth.

The week concluded with a reflective workshop by Celine Desgranges encouraging students to consider their future professional paths whether as founders, freelancers, or employees. By combining practical skill-building, wellness, industry connections, and entrepreneurial inspiration, Skills Sprint Week once again proved to be a defining experience for the Gisma community.

At Gisma, we believe in equipping our students with more than just academic knowledge. Skills Sprint Week is a testament to our commitment to creating opportunities that shape well-rounded, future-ready professionals prepared to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
