Gisma Alumnus shares their experience at Bosch

Recently, the Career Centre at GISMA Business School in Germany organised a Zoom call with an alumnus as part of their career support services. The alumnus, Hinrich Claussen from Germany, was invited to share his experience of working with the prestigious Robert Bosch organisation.

The Bosch Group offers a wide range of products and services across 4 business sectors: mobility solutions, consumer goods, industrial technology, and energy and building technology. Bosch also offers innovative Internet-of-Things solutions for smart homes, industries and automotive companies.

With the motto “Invented for Life,” the Bosch group employs more than 395,000 associates across the world and generates a revenue of around €71.5 billion each year.

Hinrich joined Bosch in 1989 as a part of the innovation project for car navigation. The idea was deemed impossible when Hinrich joined. However, the project was delivered successfully.

Hinrich had the chance to work on the product division digital map in collaboration with Tele Atlas Germany in 1993. He received this opportunity as he had a degree in Engineering which included cartography which made him competent in digital mapping.

1997 saw Hinrich managing the product development project for Tele Atlas which was quite complex to begin with. However, over time Hinrich contributed to the successful completion of the project.

Hinrich took a year off in 2004 to go back into education and obtain an MBA in Germany from GISMA Business School. Back then, the degree was awarded by Purdue University and GISMA Business School, in which he received 2 certificates.

GISMA has developed rapidly since 2004, and instead of offering an MBA via Purdue University, GISMA now awards its own Global MBA programme.

This internationally recognised programme will provide you with the relevant management expertise required for all kinds of leadership careers in Germany across a wide range of domains. The programme is AMBA-accredited and trains you in essential management aspects including business control, value generation and business operations.

GISMA also gives you the flexibility to study an MBA as a full-time programme for 1 year or a part-time programme for 2 years.
