Visa requirements

Most international students will need a student visa to study in Germany. Finding out whether you need a visa is easy – simply select your home country below.

Here is our step by step German Visa Guide to get you started

Step 1: With entry requirements met and all documents submitted, you will get an acceptance letter.

Step 2: Contact the German embassy or consulate in your home country to find out about the visa process.

Step 3: Prepare your documents as the embassy asks. This will depend on your home country.

Step 4: You will have an interview at the embassy to give some background information about who you are.

Step 5: Your visa confirmation will take approximately 2-3 months, depending on your home country.

Step 6: You will receive a Student Visa, ready to start your studies in Germany!
