Professor Malte Behrmann
Professor Malte Behrmann joins Gisma University of Applied Sciences as Professor of Game Management in the Business Department.
Professor Behrmann is a distinguished academic and industry practitioner with deep expertise in the media, creative, and gaming sectors. Based in Berlin, he has advised clients as an independent attorney and is the founder of Game Farm GmbH, a consultancy specialising in research and projects within the creative industries.
With over 20 years of teaching experience at Games Academy Berlin and a professorship at bbw Hochschule (2013–2024), Professor Behrmann has played a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of creative professionals. He has also served as President of the Jury at the Swiss Game Support Program and as a coach for IBB Coaching Bonus.
A co-founder and former CEO of the German National Association of Game Developers (Game e.V.), he spent nearly a decade as General Secretary of the European Games Developer Federation (EGDF), contributing significantly to public funding and the cultural recognition of game development in Germany and Europe.
He remains actively engaged in policy and industry initiatives, including the Mittelstandsausschuss of BDI/BDA, the NEM Initiative steering board, Nordic Game, and as co-lead of the D64 working group on startup support.
