Prof. Dr. Gisela Schmalz
Prof. Dr. Gisela Schmalz studied Philosophy and Economics in Bonn, Berlin, and New York. She has extensive experience in academia, teaching Strategic Management, Marketing, and Business Ethics at several renowned universities.
She is the co-founder of the political platform Respublica e.V. in Berlin and has contributed to notable research initiatives, including the Google Collaboratory (Berlin) and the Ethical-Ecological Rating (Frankfurt/Main). In addition, she developed and implemented mediadb.eu, a comprehensive database on major media and technology companies.
Prof. Schmalz currently heads the Focus Group on Artificial Intelligence at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Philosophie (German Society for Philosophy). Her research lies at the intersection of technology, economics, and philosophy, examining the business strategic, societal, and ethical dimensions of digital transformation. She is the author of several books, “Mein fremder Wille” (My Alientating Will, Frankfurt a. M. 2020) among them.
