Welcome to Gisma University of Applied Sciences: A New Chapter Begins

We are thrilled to welcome our new students to our campus locations in Potsdam and Berlin during this year’s academic inductions, including the first-ever cohort of our double degree program in partnership with Kingston University London! This diverse group of learners joins our vibrant academic community, making this intake the largest in Gisma’s history.

A special thanks to Deborah Pinder-Young, Head of Department of Management at Kingston University, who shared her invaluable insights on global challenges, emphasized how our students can overcome them and highlighted the importance of Kingston’s prestigious accreditations. Her contributions, paired with Dr. Hans-Joachim Wolfram, Associate Professor in Work Psychology at Kingston, set the tone for an exciting academic journey ahead. Both were on the Berlin campus to personally welcome the new students, ensuring they felt supported right from the start.

This year marks the official launch of the double degree programmes, which will combine the strengths of two universities, offering unique opportunities for students to earn degrees from both Kingston and Gisma in parallel. We are proud to offer both BSc and MSc degrees in International Business Management (IBM) from Kingston Business School, equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in today’s dynamic global marketplace. In addition, students can choose from Business Management courses (with different specializations, like Marketing, Supply Chain Management or Cybersecurity) and the highly successful Data Science, AI & Digital Business programme from Gisma.

During the induction, students were provided a blend of institutional background and practical knowledge, helping them to understand the processes and expectations. It was heartening to see their keen faces and hear their insightful questions. The energy in the room was contagious as we laid the foundation for their academic success.

Challenging the Past and Present for a Better Future

At Gisma, we are committed to challenging both the past and present, encouraging self-reflection, and striving to create meaningful impact in the world. This philosophy is something we aim to instill in all our students, empowering them to push boundaries and achieve greatness.

Once again, a big thank you to Deborah Pinder-Young and Dr. Hans-Joachim Wolfram for joining us in person to welcome our students. With such a diverse and dynamic cohort, we’re confident that Gisma will continue to be a place where global talent thrives.

Good luck to all our students! Enjoy the journey, and don’t forget to have fun along the way!
