GISMA welcomes leading fashion group to Potsdam campus

AWWG Fashion Group is a leading global fashion group with brands such as Pepe Jeans London, Hackett, and Façonnable. AWWG was formed by Pepe Jeans in London and is now a well-established organisation based in Spain.

The event was opened by Professor Dr Stefan Stein, President of GISMA, who introduced the speakers, highlighting their credentials and setting the tone for the event at GISMA’s Potsdam campus.

AWWG Fashion Group was represented at the event by Juliana Caicedo Ramirez, Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding Manager, and Armand Griesdoorn, Global Brand and Merchandising Management, who gave the students an overview of the AWWG structure. This covered the group’s own brands and the partnership brands, that they manage distribution on behalf of, such as Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein.

The AWWG representatives also spoke about the strategy and distribution channels, which include 500 brand stores and 5,000 points of sale, including brand and department stores as well as franchises.

What was of significant interest to GISMA’s students was the information shared regarding a global internship programme, where interns can start in a specific field of choice and then switch internally with the prospect of a junior position. This programme gives students the opportunity to join AWWG’s existing workforce of over 4,200 employees.

Following an initial introduction to the brand from Bharat Vaswani, Director of Strategic Partnerships, the event was organised by the GISMA Career Centre, headed by Eloise Capet, Head of Career Services at GISMA.
