Prof. Dr. Sara Ravan Ramzani
Prof. Dr. Sara Ravan Ramzani is Vice President of Academics at Gisma University of Applied Sciences, where she provides strategic leadership across academic affairs, quality assurance, programme development, and institutional growth. Prior to this appointment, she served as Head of the Business Department and as an active Senate Member, contributing significantly to academic governance and institutional strategy.
With extensive international experience spanning Germany, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, and Singapore, she has held senior academic roles, including Principal Lecturer, Programme Director, and Postgraduate Director. Her career reflects a strong commitment to academic excellence, innovation in teaching, and the development of industry-relevant programmes.
Prof. Dr. Ramzani holds a PhD in Economics and Information Systems from Universiti Putra Malaysia (2015). She has authored numerous research publications, focusing on finance, monetary economics, sustainability, strategic management, and organisational development. She was awarded the Best Innovative Paper Award at the Sydney International Business Research Conference in 2018 in recognition of her impactful research contributions.
She is also recognised as an expert in economic sustainability, public policy, and systems-based public economics, and acts as a policy consultant and advisor to NGOs, startups, and multilateral institutions, with a particular focus on the MENA and European regions.
Her scholarly and professional work extends to international collaborations, including contributions to United Nations-related initiatives such as Measuring Up 2.0, supporting the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 9 and SDG 16. She is actively engaged in bridging academia and practice through applied research, advisory roles, and academic partnerships.
An experienced doctoral supervisor and examiner, Prof. Dr. Ramzani has supervised numerous PhD candidates and served as an external examiner and viva chair across a wide range of institutions. Her leadership is characterised by a strong emphasis on academic quality, innovation, and global engagement.
Through her role as Vice President of Academics, she continues to drive institutional excellence, enhance academic standards, and strengthen Gisma’s position within the international higher education landscape.
