Graduation of the Magellan MBA Class of 2016/17
We are proud to announce that on 15 December, the Magellan MBA class of 2017 graduated alongside their peers in Porto in an official ceremony at the Clube Universitário do Porto.
The event included an address from Dean Ramon O’Callaghan, who encouraged students to look into the future with confidence. He noted that The Magellan MBA had given them a solid pre-grounding and equipped them well for their future career paths.
There was also a keynote speech from Texeira dos Santos, former minister of finance and also a former director of The Magellan MBA. He spoke about the Portuguese banking sector and the financial crisis of 2008. Magellan MBA alumnus Ricardo Martinez, who now works at Philips, also gave a speech.
In addition to this, there were two awards handed out. Magellan MBA student Heiko Teiken, who came top of the class in Hannover and was in the Dean’s List, won the José Valente Award.
José Valente was a celebrated faculty member of The Magellan MBA, but sadly died at a young age. The award is named after him and honours academic achievement as well as social contribution to the programme.
We also congratulate Teresia Naranjo, who won the Best Faculty Award for her services marketing course.
The new graduates have also been invited to the alumni re-union, which will take place on November 10 2018 in Porto.
Congratulations to all of them!
