GISMA attended the German Africa Award 2017
GISMA Managing Director Dr Thorsten Thiel and Yvonne Atieno, Programme Manager of the Magellan MBA attended the German Africa Award 2017.
The annual event was hosted by the German Africa Foundation and celebrates the achievements of African individuals that have made an outstanding contribution to democracy, economy, law, and culture.
At the event’s reception, Dr Thiel and Mrs Atieno spoke to Frank Walter Steinmeier, the Federal President of Germany. Being a contemporary of GISMA founder and former chancellor Gerhard Schröder, Mr Steinmeier spoke positively of the recent opening of the GISMA Berlin Campus.
Dr Thorsten Thiel commented: “This certainly shows the status GISMA Business School already holds when it comes to educating global talent, offering the ideal foundation for our continuous growth in Germany and beyond.”
Programme manager Yvonne Atieno said: “This exclusive event offered the ideal opportunity to network and place GISMA’s programme offers with key individuals from economy, politics and the media alike.”
Last but not least, GISMA congratulates Nicholas Opiyo, this year’s awardee of the German Africa Award, on his outstanding work for human rights in the Republic of Uganda and beyond!
GISMA looks forward to attending more events which celebrate hard work and achievement.
