To strengthen our team at the flagship campuses in Potsdam and Berlin, Germany, the following position is available immediately full time on a short-term basis for three months:

Careers and Employability Advisor (m/f/d)

The Role

As a Careers and Employability Advisor at Gisma, your role will be to help students fulfil their career goals through a variety of specialized services. You will report into the Head of Career Services and be part of the wider operational team of the University.

You will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between university education and the demands of the global German marketplace, and in helping students secure internships and full-time employment in various sectors such as start-ups, fintech, engineering, consulting, and marketing.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Being the first point of contact for the Career Centre for Gisma students and graduates, especially for getting started with the Career Hub Handshake.
  • Increasing students’ employability by providing career workshops, digital career journeys for different audience (Bachelors, Masters, MBA’s), curated and up-to-date resources (videos, online surveys, blogs…), and individual coaching sessions.
  • Managing the central Gisma Handshake platform including the promotion of the tool to students, the creation of tutorials or onboarding sessions, the creation of events, consultation appointments, job offers, partner organization profiles and statistical reports.
  • Providing access to the latest job opportunities through online recruitment platforms, to feed the LinkedIn community, newsletters and other relevant tools.
  • Collaborating with the Gisma Career Centre Team to provide timely support, including answering general questions on various topics through different communication channels (e.g., email, in-person meetings, drop-in workshops, etc.). Event Management: Preparing, co-organizing and supporting the Career Centre events at the campuses in Berlin and Potsdam.
  • Implementing programs and initiatives like the Skills Sprint Week to connect students and graduates to companies, e.g. recruiting events and company excursions.
  • Supporting the Career Centre Manager in the daily tasks in the Berlin office.
  • Working closely with our Marketing and Student Services teams and colleagues at Potsdam and Berlin.
  • Establishing and actively developing a network of partner organizations with a strong focus on the acquisition of partners within the digital and innovative industry in Berlin, Brandenburg and throughout Germany.
  • Participating to the organization of the GGG Career Fair, in partnership with colleague brands.

Your profile:

  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • A data driven profile and reliability to provide reporting.
  • A track recorded experience in digital learning project management and a high level of agility to manage several projects in parallel.
  • Knowledge in customer and user journeys design, creativity to create learning pathways with digital tools.
  • Excellent written and spoken languages skills in English, German is a “good-to-have” to understand the labour laws and employers’ news.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and responsive to student needs.
  • Excellent service skills.
  • Strong initiative, ability to work in a team, reliability, commitment and a high sensitivity to cohesiveness.
  • A relevant degree would be in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Student Affairs, or related fields. Desirable experience in event planning or university career services (familiarity with Handshake is an advantage). One to two years’ experience in event planning, a student (career) consultation role, or digital learning environment or platform.
