Study in Berlin

The dynamic German capital is one of the most popular destinations to study for international students.

Berlin, the capital of Germany and the largest city in the EU, has seen a huge resurgence in popularity over the last 30 years, whilst maintaining its cool status and affordable price tag with a thriving business scene offering a range of job opportunities to young professionals and graduates. In addition to its rich cultural and political history, it is now becoming famous for its wealth of flourishing start-up tech companies and a growing number of global giants now calling Berlin-Brandenburg home.

With 500 new tech start-ups each year, the city is now considered the start-up capital of Europe. It is also home to some of the largest national and international companies in Germany from the tech, creative, health care, mobility & logistics, and service industries, making Berlin a popular destination for students looking to live and work in Germany after their studies. The city is also highly international, with people from over 180 nations living and working here.

Berlin is also famous for its Freizeit (free-time) options – whether it is an all-night party at a club, exploring historical sights, or relaxing at one of the city’s 43 lakes or 2,500 public parks. The city is home to countless museums, galleries, opera houses, and theatres as well the “Berlinale” as one of Europe’s most popular film festivals. It also has an incredible “foodie” scene, with cuisines from all over the world and restaurants, cafes, and bistros for every budget.

Germany is the most popular option for international students looking to study in Europe due to its its high-quality education, career opportunities, and 18-month post-study visa, all of which you can experience with Gisma.
