Language Programmes

With maximum class sizes of 14 people, we ensure you receive the specialised attention you require to reach your full potential whilst studying with us. 

Having the necessary language skills will enable you to pursue the job opportunities in Germany or elsewhere in Europe, or even continue your studies on one of the degree programmes, or on a short business executive course. The available language courses at GISMA include:

Students are allowed to mix and match the courses to develop their language skills in all areas, or focus on a particular course to enhance specific language skills they would like to concentrate on.

General German

Whether you are elementary or advanced level, our General German classes will help develop your communicative confidence when using German in a wide range of everyday situations. General German covers reading, writing, speaking and listening, combining this practice with vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation exercises. This course starts first Monday of every month and is available for any level of German, A1 – B2. We have a maximum number of 14 students in a class and you can study for a minimum of one week. There is no maximum study period.

Business German

Our Business German course aims to give you the necessary language skills required to gain an advantage in your current role, when applying for new roles, or going on to study business in German. The programme focuses on technical vocabulary and business contexts. This course starts first Monday of every month and requires a minimum level of B1. We have a maximum number of 14 students in a class and you can study for a minimum of one week. There is no maximum study period.

TestDaF

TestDaF is the globally recognised German language qualification, widely accepted by German universities and colleges. Our tailored approach will meet your individual needs and requirements, developing the key skills needed for all four parts of the test: reading, writing, speaking and listening. This course starts first Monday of every month.

General English

Our General English classes provide you with quality tuition and plenty of practical exercises, allowing you to develop your skills when speaking English in everyday situations. General English covers the four skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening, combining this practice with vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation exercises. This course starts first Monday of every month and is available for any level of English, A2 – C1. We have a maximum number of 14 students in a class and you can study for a minimum of 1 week. There is no maximum study period.

Business English

Our Business English classes give you the language skills to help progress in your current role or help secure the job you are aiming for. The focus lies on technical vocabulary and concepts. Business English starts first Monday of every month and requires a minimum level of B1. We have a maximum number of 14 students in each class and you can study for a minimum of one week. There is no maximum study period.

Executive English

Our Executive English course helps students enhance their communication skills in an English speaking workplace at an executive level. The course focuses on real-life executive needs, such as giving presentations and negotiating, as well as increasing intercultural awareness. This course starts first Monday of every month and requires a minimum level of B1. The maximum number of students per class is six.

Free German Courses *

When you study one of our postgraduate programmes Magellan MBA, GGSB MBA or GGSB MIB you will get free German lessons at GISMA. This will give you the opportunity to learn a new language in a German speaking environment, and it will open your doors to the local business market.

 

*GISMA offers free German courses from A1-B1 level. Further levels are payable. The German classes’ timetables will not be adjusted according to the Postgraduate programmes’ timetables. Students can choose to begin their classes after completion of the postgraduate programme.
