It generally belongs to the most impressive experiences that MBA students are able to enjoy at GISMA: students of the full-time MBA program are glad to take up the opportunity offered of several weeks exchange at business schools and universities in USA, Madrid, Paris, India and Peking.
This year the Krannert Business School and the GISMA Business School are offering Latin America with Santiago, Chile, at an alternative place of study. The stay is scheduled for the period from May 10th to 19th, 2010 and in total 16 students will be able to take part in the exchange.
"Business and Populism in Latin America" is the title of the program that GISMA offers its students as a selective. The students get two "credits" if they participate successfully. Both historical and current economic and social matters in Chile are included in the timetable. In addition the transfer to democracy, the political and economic history of Latin America in the 20th century and the popular uprisings in Latin America are analyzed. A further role is played by business communication and negotiation methods in Latin American cultures. Visits to Chilean business institutions, to the Committee for Foreign Investments and to interesting companies complete the program.
During the stay in Santiago participants will have the chance to intensify their impressions by visiting the Sewell Mining Camps and the Santiago "Cultural City Games". Apart from that, the program includes an excursion to the foothills of the Andes, horse-riding trips, mountain hikes and a visit to the football stadium as well as to the Philharmonic Orchestra.
